In this class, you will learn the copper foil technique made popular by the windows and lamps of Louis Comfort Tiffany. You will be trained in the fundamentals of glass cutting, copper foil construction, and soldering. You will complete at least two projects during the six sessions. For ages 16 and up.
Included in the class fee: Art glass, copper foil, and solder for the first project as well as your own glass cutter. Students are required to either purchase or supply their own soldering iron and the materials for the second project. Appropriate tools will be discussed on the first day. Additional tools and supplies are available for purchase at Glass FX at a discounted rate.
No previous glass experience necessary. Anyone, regardless of manual dexterity, artistic ability, or level of confidence can be reasonably expected to master the basic skills.
