In this class, you will learn the basic skills to make glass plates, coasters, bowls, and jewelry! We will start out by teaching you the glass cutting basics. You will learn how to draw on glass using glass stringers, as well as how to incorporate glass frit to make three dimensional works of art! Over the course of the 6 week class you will make at least 10 small projects. After the class is over you may rent kiln space any time you wish to continue making pieces. For ages 16 and up.
Included in the class fee: 96 COE glass starter kit, one jewelry bail, 60 stringers, one 8.5oz container of glass frit, protector pads for coasters, and more! Other fusible accessories are available for purchase at a discounted rate. Students are required to either purchase or supply their own glass cutter and breaking pliers.
No prerequisite. You will be taught to cut glass in this class.
