In this class, you will learn the centuries old stained glass technique still used today in many churches, businesses, and residences. You will learn advanced glass cutting, glass design, lead came construction, and lead came soldering techniques. Leaded panel reinforcement and residential installation will be discussed. Stained Glass repair and restoration will be discussed. You will complete at least 2 projects during the 6 weeks. For ages 16 and up.
Included in the class fee: Art glass, lead, and zinc for the first project. Students are required to either purchase or supply their own lead kinfe and nippers and solder, as well as the materials for the second project. Appropriate tools will be discussed on the first day. Additional tools and supplies are available for purchase at Glass FX at a discounted rate.
Prerequisite: Beginning Stained Glass or comparable glass cutting & soldering experience.
